My observations led to the founding of Corestone Tutors to address these five key issues:

1. Students need personalized help: Many students crave one-on-one support with their IAs, EEs, and TOK, but it isn’t always available.

2. Assessment confusion: Students and even some teachers are not always clear on the rubrics and course layouts.

3. Teacher burnout: The administrative burden at many schools leaves teachers with less time to provide the in-depth support students need.

4. Inadequate university counseling: Students often feel lost and under-supported when it comes to planning their next steps and applying to university.

5. Lack of timely feedback: Students need fast, accurate feedback on their work and a clear picture of their predicted grades, which sometimes can be vague and ambiguous.
