Corestone Education Safeguarding Policy

Last Updated: May 11th 2025
At Corestone Education, the safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. We
are committed to providing a secure, respectful, and supportive online learning environment
for all students in our care.

1. Policy Scope & Principles

This policy applies to all Corestone Education tutors, staff, students, and clients.
We adhere to international best practices and legal requirements regarding child protection
and safeguarding.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility—anyone involved with Corestone Education is
expected to prioritize student welfare and act immediately on any concern.

2. Tutor & Staff Responsibilities

● All tutors and staff must:
   ● Promote the welfare and safety of all students at all times.
   ● Maintain professional boundaries in all communications and sessions.
   ● Conduct all lessons through approved Corestone Education platforms.
   ● Create a safe, inclusive environment free from discrimination, abuse, or
      inappropriate behaviour.
   ● Disclose any criminal convictions, investigations, or concerns that may affect
their suitability to work with young people.
● Tutors must not seek or accept students’ personal contact details outside of the
Corestone Education platform.
● Face-to-face meetings outside the online platform are not permitted unless
specifically authorized by Corestone Education.

3. Fair Treatment & Non-Discrimination

● Every student must be treated fairly and with respect regardless of background,
ability, or personal circumstances.
● Tutors must pay particular attention to the needs of students who may be more
vulnerable to harm or discrimination.

4. Session Safety & Monitoring

● All tutoring sessions may be recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance
purposes.
● Students and parents will be notified about session recording.

● Sessions should take place in appropriate, distraction-free environments.

5. Reporting & Handling Safeguarding Concerns

● Any concerns about a student’s welfare—including suspected abuse, neglect,
inappropriate behaviour, or illegal activity—must be reported as soon as possible to
contact@corestone.education.
● Reports should include the nature of the concern, names of those involved, relevant
dates/times, and any supporting information.
● If a student is at immediate risk of harm, contact local emergency services as
appropriate, then inform Corestone Education.
● All reports will be handled confidentially; information will only be shared on a
need-to-know basis.
● Retaliation against anyone making a safeguarding report in good faith is strictly
prohibited.

6. Vetting & Suitability

● All tutors undergo a vetting process including self-disclosure of criminal convictions
and suitability interviews.
● Tutors are required to keep Corestone Education informed of any new concerns or
investigations that could affect their role.

7. Record-Keeping

● Safeguarding concerns and actions taken are securely documented and retained in
accordance with legal requirements.

8. Compliance & Enforcement

● All tutors, staff, clients, and students must comply with this policy.
● Breaches may result in suspension or removal from Corestone Education services
and may be referred to appropriate authorities if necessary.

9. Review

● This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure continued effectiveness and compliance
with current safeguarding standards.
● Any updates will be communicated to all relevant parties.
